Training at The Sports Science Centre in Loughborough
This week I’m at the Sports Science Centre at Loughborough for a full fitness evaluation. I’ll be doing various different tests such as the VA2 Mach test and a lactose tolerance test.
I come to the centre about every four months and find it incredibly useful to evaluate how I’m getting on with my training and it’s a great benchmark to see how fit I really am.
Its also enables me to demonstrate scientifically, despite what is claimed in the media, that the blades I use for my racing don’t give me an advantage. It’s all down to me and plain old hard work!
It’s going to be a really busy day, as I also have the BBC East Midlands Sport Personality of the Year awards this week. I’ll be suited and booted in black tie, so fingers crossed!
